JNE Application Overview
OPENINGS AND POTENTIAL VACANCIES FOR U.S DISTRICT COURT JUDGES AND U.S. ATTORNEYS
I am State Chair of Senator Dianne Feinstein's Judicial Advisory Committee process. The chair of the Central Committee is Wylie Aitken, the chair of the Southern Committee is David Noonan, the chair of the Northern Committee is Louise Renne, and the chair of the Eastern Committee is Nancy Miller. We write on behalf of the Senator concerning positions and potential vacancies in all U.S. District Courts of California.
As you may know, Senator Feinstein has established a Judicial Advisory Committee in each federal district to review candidates for the positions of U.S. District Court Judge and U.S. Attorneys. If you know of a candidate who you believe would serve with distinction as a district judge or U.S. Attorney, please encourage him or her to submit their application. The applications along with instructions are available at this link:
Although applications will be considered on a rolling basis, the Committee will be working to provide candidates to the Senator as soon as possible. Therefore, please encourage any candidate to submit his or her application by January 30, 2021. If a candidate is interested in applying, they should immediately notify me by email of their interest and identify the position and district they seek.
If you or a potential candidate would like more information about the process, either you or the candidate may contact me at (619) 238-1811.
Finally, please feel free to forward this e-mail to other leaders in the legal community whom you think may be helpful in locating qualified candidates. It is critical that the Committee have a wide range of qualified candidates to consider, and, as leaders in the California legal community, your participation in this process is invaluable.
